Science Fiction and Fantasy book cover original art.
I started collecting SF/F original book cover art about 5 years ago. Below are a few of the paintings I've collected in that time. You can spot paintings that were done for book covers because the top third or so of the painting doesn't "have much going on there". This is the space reserved for the book title and author's name
Two oil paintings by Donato Giancola. Left is "Ash" and right is "Godheads". Both were published as book covers. "Godheads" was also the cover of a Spectrum volume. Below are the book covers:

In the Country of the Blind cover painting by Alan Pollack. The painting itself is quite large over 3 feet wide. This piece was also a Spectrum cover illustration.
Sorcerer's Gun original painting and published cover version.
"Sorcerer's Gun" by Don Maitz (oils on masonite). I saw this painting in the World Con art show at the 2000 convention in Chicago, but didn't approach Don to ask about acquiring it. For the next year, I thought about that painting every day, even going out and purchasing the book it illustrates on the cover. At the 2001 World Con in Philadelphia, I ran into Don at the art show and asked him about the painting and fortunately for me, it hadn't sold yet.
